Lorenzo Bellini is a pianist, composer and bandleader based in London (UK).  Strongly influenced by New York pianists Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Kirkland, Bellini’s composition incorporates a mixture of harmonic depth and melodic clarity and Gospel feel. The Garda Jazz Festival talks about his music as “vital energy, essential, pure, bright and deeply serious”.

In 2021 he released his first album of original compositions, Love Grain (listen here), recorded in Boston and featuring, among the others, Ilya Blazh, Giovanni and Matteo Cutello and Morgan Faw.  

He was awarded the Berklee Valencia Full Scholarship for the master in Contemporary Performance and a Scholarship by the Royal Academy of Music in London (UK), where he moved after 4 years living in the States, attending the Master in Jazz Piano.

As a bandleader he plays with the London based band Cloudy Peaks (Kasper Rietkerk, Guy Dempsey, Luke McCarthy) and the Italian  Bellini 4tet (Luca De Toni, Matteo Padoin, Andrea Dionisi). With the latter, in 2023, he was awarded the 1st prize at the Music 4 The Next Generation Contest.

Musical Director and side man, he has performed with artists like Tiger Okoshi, Ni Maxine, Dennis Montgomery and and Roberta Gentile.

As an educator, Lorenzo works for The Gospel University, an successful online educational platform founded by Gospel musician Vaughn Brathwaite
